4 financial influencers you should be following

Written by Kalijah Rahming

Learning how to properly manage your money in a world that prioritizes spending over saving can be a very difficult thing. Trust me, I completely get it. We are constantly forced to make snap judgements on what things are the most important to us. Should we spend our money on a new album or should we take the time to save that cash for a rainy day?

Lucky for us, there are many people who can help us with any money problem that we may have. Here are four financial influencers that you should definitely be keeping up with.

1. Cinneah, Flynanced

Many people rightfully blame COVID-19 for ruining their travel plans. Dreams of laying out at warm, tropical beaches or spending time with family in the snow were quickly shut down once the pandemic hit. However, now that more people are getting vaccinated, traveling has begun to open up again.

If you are someone who wants to travel while spending the least amount of money, you should definitely check out Cinneah El-Amin’s Instagram and website. As the founder of Flynanced, Cinneah actively works to teach women of color how to grow their wealth so that they can make all of their financial dreams come true.

2. Vivana, Fit Finances Now

Creating generational wealth can be a difficult task for many people, especially those who do not come from money. As a Colombian immigrant who previously lived off of very meager funds, Vivana understands this struggle well. Her main goal is to help women of color become comfortable with their finances.

By helping other women learn how to save their money and get out of whatever debt they may have accumulated, Vivana hopes that they will avoid the same money mistakes that she made. She even has a free financial guide available to help you start your financial journey.

3. Tiffany, The Budgetnista

Budgeting can be a challenging part of financial wellness. It requires a lot of discipline, as you have to remind yourself not to purchase every little thing that you may see. Tiffany Aliche, also known as The Budgetnista, is well-known for the work she does to promote financial education. She even worked to enforce a law in New Jersey that required all middle school students to be taught how to manage their finances. In addition to the classes that she teaches, Tiffany also published a book outlining her 10-step plan to get everyone financially stable. Make sure to keep up with her work on social media.

4. Melissa, Millennial in Debt

Unfortunately, having debt is something that many people understand very well. However, there are tools that people can use to get out of that situation. Melissa, co-founder of Millenial in Debt, focuses her work on teaching millenials how to make their money work for them. Her Instagram is not limited to one topic, ranging from informative graphics on income to discussions on gas prices.

I find it very reassuring to see four women of color boldly making their mark on the financial industry. It shows us all that no matter what you look like, you have a place within the money-making world.
